Abstract

Gaia will provide astrometric measurements accurate enough for deriving the masses of spectroscopic binary (SB) components with uncertainties around 1%. A list of a bit less than 100 SB is set up for that purpose. However, the spectroscopic elements of these systems need to be derived again from accurate radial velocity measurements in order to achieve a 1% accuracy on the masses.
