Abstract

The results of recent large-scale hydrodynamical simulations of star formation are discussed, focusing on the formation mechanisms and properties of brown dwarfs, including the dependence of the abundance of brown dwarfs on environment and the velocity dispersion, binarity and discs of brown dwarfs.
